Weaning whilst on Carobel

We are planning to start weaning DD from 17/18 weeks due to her reflux. She currently has carobel in her bottles to thicken them (with neocate formula which is very thin) as without the carobel she can't keep them down. Yesterday we tried to lower the dose or carobel slightly to see how she would cope but she sicked a lot more (and in the night which she hasn't done for months) so we have put it back up again. My question is, when we start weaning with some rice/puree, is it okay that she still has carobel in her bottles aswell? I'm worried about things getting too thick in her tummy but she can't do without the carobel

@PL2021 sorry but hope don't mind me asking, we are in the same boat, my girl is due to be weaned soon and I am wondering the same. What worked for you? Did you reduce the carobel

Heyy, we kept the carobel the same at first, and then after a couple of weeks we reduced it by one scoop and she was fine. We will continue to reduce the scoops until we are weaned off it but at the moment she isnt a great eater (constantly teething, 6 teeth already at 9 months!) So we haven't reduced it anymore yet. Hope this helps! X
