Moving from formula to cows milk ?

My DS2 is nearly a year and I am thinking of moving him from formula to cows milk but as my DS1 gave up on milk entirely at 10 months I am not sure if there is any best way to do it. Is it as simple as just changing over or should I be doing it gradually. My DS1 will not tolerate milk at all and I really don't want to put DS2 off by doing this wrong. Any advice?

I just did it and DD was fine

I did one feed at a time e.g. made the morning one cows milk and left the night one formula and once ds tolerated it I swapped the night one to cows milk too. He never seemed to notice the difference

I did it a week ago and so far so good - took a day or two to get used to it but all fine on both feeds. Now, I think she's actually taking more milk than she did on formula! Makes her poo go a funny colour though!!

I did it with ds2 by gradually reducing the amount of formula eg instead of 8oz of F, 7oz of F and 1oz of cows. Then a couple of days later 6oz of F and 2oz cows milk, and so on. I think it helped because he never really noticed the taste difference (F & cows milk are like chalk & cheese tastewise).

PS It wasn't really as scientific as that - we kept forgetting the ratio of F to cows milk (sleep deprived) but ds2 didn't seem too bothered

thanks all - will give it a go
