How to part 2 yo dd from her bottles - suggestions please

My 2yo dd is still very attached to her bottles and refuses to drink out of sippy cups etc. She will occasionally use a straw or a proper tea cup (not v practical), but not toddler cups. I wasn't really worried because I thought once she is a bit bigger she can go straight to proper cups, however she has recently started chewing the teats creating a choking hazard. So I've decided now is the time to go cold turkey (excuse the seasonal pun) and thought maybe Father Christmas should take away her old bottles and leave some new big girl cups/bottles? I'm particularly worried about her bedtime bottle though - any suggestions?

ds is 2y8m and still has a bottle for his bedtime drink, although he is leaving his dummy for father christmas in return for a train set.
however we stopped him having bottles in the day by just going cold turkey

I'm listening in on this one as I have smiliar problems with DS2. He's 2 now and a bit of a problem drinker. He just glares at toddler/sippy cups and refuses to touch them unless it it to hurl them across the kitchen.

First we tried going cold turkey but once he had gone 8 waking hours without drinking I gave in and got his bottle back out. We have however made a few small steps in the right direction. He now has a 4oz bottle in the morning then 'Tropicana Go' orange and pear juice which comes in a sports type bottle during the day and then another 4oz bottle before bed.

We had been planning to put the morning milk in an open cup tommorrow - he'll happily drink bath water from an open cup when he thinks we're not looking - however he seems to be going down with quite a heavy cold so I will probably back down on that one....
