Sterilising equipment

Just getting my head round weaning (or trying to!) Fed up of reading some many different guidelines to be quite honest!

Anyway, think we're nearly about to start, waiting for a few more cues from lo. Confused about what to sterilise, how to sterilise and for how long.

Am going to make purees in normal ice cube trays - so should these be sterilised? Was then going to open freeze and put in bags but have read that they should be put in sterilised containers in freezer - aargh!

My personal feeling is the world has gone a little bit mad with sterilising. I wasn't going to sterilise spoons, bowls etc.

If I do sterilise ice cube trays and containers when can I stop?

I don't sterilise anything apart from DS's bottles. We are doing BLW so not much in terms of utensils anyway but I take the view that by this age everything they get hold of goes in their mouth anyway so no point...

I think current advice is only to sterilize bottles after 6 months, not anything else.

That's all I did anyway, although I did do the sippy cup he had milk out of too.
