Is she refusing all solids, even her favourite ones like fruit etc? I know it's easy for me to say but I would try not to worry. It can take a long time for their appetite to come back after a sick bug. It's taken my DD two weeks to get back on solids before. And as long as she's taking lots of milk then she'll be fine.

I would keep offering solids to her with no pressure, and wait until she takes something hopefully in a few days. Perhaps try to offer them when you know she's not full up on milk.

thanks. yes she is refusing everything at the mo, just having milk. she took a little bit of custad and apple before but totally refused shepards pie which she usually loves and when she took a taste of it vomitted. maybe im just trying her too early. thanks fo you help,

you could try offering her plainer types of food like toast, rusks, fruit etc. maybe the shepherds pie was a bit rich?

your welcome, and hope it all goes well for you and your DD

If she just wants milk at the moment then just give her milk. They don't actually need food until they are 1, so leave it until she is ready so that food doesn't become an issue for her.

thanks that was i was worried about that she would associate the food with vomiting. think i will just leave her for a bit longer. its so worrying isnt it.i think its just that she has been such an easy baby so far, and im soooo lucky, that when this happens it knocks everything sideways.

is she keeping it down when she feeds herself ie the toast? is the other stuff what you are feeding her? i just see you saying in your OP you say she vomits every time a spoon or bit of food is put in her mouth. try letting her feed herself, even the shepherds pie. she won't manage a spoon very well but she can have a go with her hands.

thanks everyone. had much better day with her today, she has actually not vomited at all and has had 3 very small meals so im relieved, given her a few bits of finger food which she seems to have enjoyed. thanks fo your advice. think its just going to be a matter of time.
