sweet tooth

My 7.5 month old will eat anything as long as it’s sweet. At the moment I have to sweeten everything he eats with pureed fruit. How can I get him to appreciate savoury foods?

Some of them will have a sweet tooth, especially if they're BF as BM is so sweet.

Firstly I'd stop sweetening his food. Just offer and don't worry if he doesn't eat it, his main source of nutrition should still be his milk at this age.

He might be more inclined to try the savoury if he knows there's no sweet things on offer abs you eat at the same time. So give him some savoury finger foods abs eat your lunch/breakfast at the same time and blithely ignore any protests Smile

Trouble is, he won’t take very much milk while I’m at work (he’ll take a few ounces from a cup or spoon but most of that ends up on his clothes) and he won’t drink any water. So DH has been giving him lots of foods with a high water content so he doesn’t dehydrate. Plus as soon as I get home the relentless cluster feeding starts so I have to give him extra solids to give myself a bit of a break.

Ah so if you've got a bottle refuser abs you're back at work that's slightly different, I've had 2 of those little blighters as well Smile

How long have you been back at work for? You could just be in a bit of an intense transitional period where he adjusts.

Are you working fill time?

Update:

I’ve caught DH feeding him muffins. That explains everything Angry.

Now I'm beginning to think my DH has a second family as that's exactly what he did! HmmGrin
