Hi everyone ! My little girl turns 6 months next week, looking to get some advice and recommendations of basic things to make to begin with when weaning ? The ellas kitchen purées (purées in general) are so expensive so hoping to find out what to start with that I can make on my own. Xx

For the first week I started off on single flavours of green veg puréed. I think I did broccoli, green beans, asparagus etc just so she could get a taste and get used to bitter flavours.

Quickly moved on to just blending up what I was cooking for myself. If I was making bolognese I'd just separate hers before I added salt etc.

Annabel karmel book has lots, as does one of the nigella ones - it is white...

Mumsnet have some weaning recipes here which are pretty good and there are some really good suggestions for from page 31 of this guide.
