How much milk should 13 month old have?

I am still breastfeeding but have returned to work and doing shifts - on the nights I am away dad is offering milk but he will only drink approx 2oz before bed. Dad usually offers him more when he wakes in the middle of the night, but again it's only a couple of sips. When I am around I usually feed morning/night/before both naps and at least once in night (which I know he doesn't need). If I was aiming to wean off the boob soon, how much milk should he be drinking now? I literally have no idea!

Around 300/350mls is advised from age 1 but any milk in cereal, dairy products, etc also counts towards that total

Yea once you've completely stopped BFing it's 300 ml of full fat formula a day. Whilst you're still BFing you don't need to worry about how much milk he has Smile

It's full fat cows milk from 1 year rather than formula

PanicBuyingSprouts · 29/10/2021 20:38

Sorry, no idea why I put formula. It is indeed full fact cows milk from one.

Maybe 2-3 cups a day (breakfast, snack time and before bed) plus dairy in the form of cheese and yogurt, milk on cereal/porridge.

RandomMess · 29/10/2021 20:41

I wouldn't worry about it so long as their diet is ok and they are getting calcium etc from cheese, yoghurt etc.

Thanks all, I'm only worrying when I'm on night shifts so can feed him first thing before nursery but then don't see him again till the next morning so don't think he's getting enough on those days as he only has a few sips. Hopefully he will start drinking more as he gets used to the routine

He is getting some though isn't he? He's having a feed from you and he's having milk when you're not there. I bet he's having some other dairy as well?

He really doesn't need huge milk drinks as food should be his main source of nutrition anyway Thanks
