Hi,
Not sure if anyone can help but I am looking for the food holder that they showed on This Morning last week. It is an invention that has a mesh net that holds bits of food in so baby can munch and suck but the bits don't break off into their mouth, I just can't remember what it's called or where I can buy it.
Cheers

martini82 · 09/12/2007 09:03

i saw one of those in a sainsburys last week!

amidaiwish · 09/12/2007 09:13

has anyone used them? are they any good? or are they just a gimmick?

Seona1973 · 09/12/2007 10:04

babies r us do their own version: fresh food feeder. I wouldnt buy one tbh - they need to learn to cope with bits in their mouth and I dont see that this would help.

oh they are fab. i would freeze bits of pear or apple and dd3 would suck and gnaw at it - or fresh melon. love it love it love it. take it out with us and just pop some fruit in it - she has a snack and is happy. my dd1 and 2 were playing with it and i have lost it - feel really lost without it. At 8 months she can cope with bits in her mouth - now has wedges of watermelon without the net!

I think those look really hard to clean, I imagine it's very hard to get all of the food out of the holes. I don't think it's needed, a gimmick like a baby wipe warmer!

eidsvold · 09/12/2007 10:24

mine is like the babies r us one.

eidsvold · 09/12/2007 10:26

just shove it on top shelf of dishwasher - over one of the spikes - or no dishwasher - still easy to clean. am not a gimmick person but really liked this.

OMG! I read the post about a baby wipe warmer and thought: 'That can't be true'.

So, I Googled it and it is true! You can actually buy baby wipe warmers! I can't believe how many ways there are to seperate parents from their money.

Tommy · 09/12/2007 21:36

why don't you just give them food to eat? Why does it have to be in a little bag?

eidsvold · 09/12/2007 21:48

because dd3 at the start of weaning and with teething loved gnawing away at things like apple, rockmelon etc - BUT she would shove the whole thing in her mouth and gag and choke. Even now when we give her watermelon out of the thing - she shoves the whole thing in her mouth.

As I said earlier - fab for hard chunks of frozen fruit when teething.
