Last tub of Aptimel!

Hello
I'm on my last tub of Aptimel, have decided not to buy anymore as DC is 11 months and I want to try and get them on whole milk and solids

Any thoughts and tips on the transition?

They don't really eat lots at meal times and a lot ends up on the floor, concerned they won't get enough food now but hoping whole milk will substitute the bottles they're used to.

Some babies are perfectly happy to switch from formula to cow's milk, but others need a bit of time to get used to the transition. If your dc refuses cow's milk, you could try mixing equal parts formula and cow's milk. Then over time you can gradually increase the proportion of cow's milk. It’s also a good time to try transitioning off of bottles altogether and use sippy cups. The later you leave it, the harder it will be.

We kept using the formula for bed times but switched out to cows milk for the other times. Formula lasted ages and DD got used to cows milk before we changed the one I was most worries about. (They do taste drastically different) At first at least, warm the cows milk like you would a bottle so it's not too different.

If they're not eating much how much formula are they having? Between 10 and 12 months it should be 400 mls a day moving down to 300 mls at 12 months.

Start by mixing some
Of the cows milk into the formula so it's not such a shock transition

My dd just went straight on to blue milk without any issue!

How have you got on today @user1465146157?

Thank you all for tips and suggestions!

@DominicRaabsTravelAgent thanks for the note I've given some whole milk in a sippy cup just as a drink with food to see how it went, was okay and not completely rejected!

Such good advice about the cup thing, I do find my DC prefers the bottle so will have to try and get some to some other ones- trying to find one with a straw type sip to make it easier.

I highly recommend the munchkin 360 cup. We used it as a everyday sippy cup and a transition away from a bottle.
