High chair for younger baby

What age did you start using a high chair? Do they need to be able to sit? I have a 4 year old but can't remember! Baby is 3 months and starting to be awake when we eat but he looks so lonely sat away from us at the table.

I put mine in an antlop high chair with the insert at about 4 and a half months (about the same time I sat him up in the pushchair). But his neck was strong and able to support his head.

With my first I had a really expensive high chair that you could lay new horns flat in so I don't know if that is an option for you (the high chair was a pain in the backside and horrendous to clean)

Could you not put baby in his bouncer next to the table while you eat, it's what we did before they went into high chairs.

Thankyou.. 4-5 months is good to know. We use the bouncer atm but would like him higher.. without the cost of those pricey ones!

Yep, like the PP, the IKEA Antilop with the cushion insert for a first highchair. Cheap and cheerful and easy to clean.

I bought a Chicco magic, suitable from birth. Brilliant purchase, really supportive and has a detachable toy bar. Can lie flat for naps and is adjustable in height.
