Hi all. Baby is just coming up to 6.5 months. We started weaning bang on 6 months so only 2 weeks ago with puréed veg and fruit. We just do one meal a day at lunch, thinking of Introducing breakfast toward the end of this week.
But how much water should I be offering? Obviously as adults we drink throughout the day, but currently I offer just a small amount at lunch time with his meal, and he just manages a couple of sips. Now he is 6 months+ should I be offering it more regularly? He still has 4 x 7 oz bottles throughout the day and then a smaller feed of 4/5 oz before we go to bed about 11pm. All formula.
Thanks!

I just offered a small amount with meals as they are still having plenty of milk

A few sips is fine because they don’t actually really need it. It just helps him get used to the taste. I didn’t give mine water between meals because I didn’t want them filling up on it - they were a bit underweight and needed all the milk they could get. The exception to this was with Dd1 when she had a bout of sickness and diarrhoea and I was concerned she was dehydrated.
