Hi, i was wondering if anyone could give me some advise. DS just turned 9 months old and seems to have lost all interest in food. We started on purees at 6 months which started well but then at 7 months he developed a chest infection and was on antibiotics for a while now he seems to be teething all at once (4 new teeth in two weeks) he has lost all interest in food. He is still bf. He hates being spoon fed and refuses to open his mouth. He wont put a spoon in his own mouth (something he used to do with enthusiasm) and he wont put him hands anywhere near his mouth if he has food on or in them. The only thing he seems remotely interested in is things such as a dry rusk but we had an incident of him breaking off a big bit a few weeks ago and almost choking. Now im petrified of giving him finger foods because he just seems to attempt to swollow things without chewing. Im beside myself with what to do. I try and remain cheery and encouraging but its very disheartening when he wont eat. Has anyone else experienced this?

Is he teething?

If he's taking mil, he'll be fine

He’ll be fine when he’s feeling better and a few more teeth have come through. My dd only was to bf when she’s feeling ill soon goes back to food when she’s feeling better.
She’s had croup, an ear infection, a chest infection a couple of teeth and now a bad cold

He'll be fine with just BFing fir a few days. Give him some ibruprofen and stick some Dentinox Gel on his gums fit some relief.

I've had a spoon refuser as well, so it had to be finger foods. I'd make sure that you know what to do if he does choke and try to remember that they can choke on purées as well.
