Sick after afternoon bottle (9M)

My nearly 9 month old is weaning well and having three meals a day. She has dropped from 4x 7oz bottles a day to 3x but I'm increasingly finding that she's quite sick after the 2nd bottle of the day.

She usually has it a little after waking from her afternoon nap so can be 2-3 hours post lunch.
I tried reducing the quantity a little bit no difference. I'm wondering if it might be time to switch this bottle for some water and a snack instead or is it too soon?

Had anyone experienced similar? It doesn't happen with her morning bottle on waking or pre-bedtime bottle.

Thank you!

We're just moving this over to the weaning topic for the OP. Flowers

I find my DD is more sick after her mid afternoon bottle and it’s usually because she’s got a bit of trapped wind from her lunch and she didn’t burp well. Could be why? She still has 3x6oz bottles a day and she’s just turned 1.

Thank you, I'll make sure she winds after her lunch and see if that helps at all!

How is she getting on now @Goatsdorhone? Once she’s 10 months she’ll only need 14 floz/400 ml so if she’s nearly that age you could stop the afternoon bottle fir a cup of milk and a small snack?

Sorry for the delayed response @BunnyRuddington ! She's still having a bottle when she wakes up from her afternoon nap but is only very occasionally sick now and is bringing up some wind unprompted after eating solids.
She seems to be happily knocking back 21oz per day at the moment but her food intake has definitely increased recently so I think it's only a matter of time before she's happy to ditch it for a snack instead.

Remember you can start putting the milk into things like cheese sauces or puddings. I made DD rice pudding, semolina and ground rice and they can have yoghurt. It might just be too much liquid after lunch.
