Can babies drink tap water from 6 months?

If so is there any point in giving cool boiled water? I'm due to start weaning. Should I be giving x amount of water in a cup per day or is this not necessary?

Thanks

Iirc water isn't necessary unless it's really hot weather otherwise milk gives them all the liquid they need. I don't remember ever giving DS water before he was a year old

Yes once you start weaning they can have tap water with meals, they'll probably not drink all that much to start with but with my DD we always just put a sippy cup on her highchair tray.

You can give tap water from 6 months. 😁

Yes, offer tap water with food.

Milk is still their main source of nutrition until 12 months as they'll gradually start to eat more actual food.
