so ds (9mo) is refusing to be spoonfed, so we are resorting to offering our food / finger foods for meals. not really blw, but not feeding purees, so near enough
anyway, he will only eat:
potatoes, bread (breadsticks, toast etc), and so it turns out, sausage (a 70% meat one, not a totally crappy one).
he eats a little bit of peas, cucumber, sweetcorn etc, hated pasta.
(we have only just started so he hasn't tried too much). I am worred about getting a balance and him eating enough, he throws pasta / veg on the floor and scoffs the bread.
does it matter? what do we do?

i could never get dd to do a dream feed until she got to about 9 months, funnily enough. i loved it, what's the problem with it?

AitchTwoOh · 09/11/2007 13:45

exactly, mum2tom, no point in putting yourself under pressure, at this point everything's new to them, it's not a race to see how many flavours they can eat.

i tried to cut the dream feed out too and she woke at 02:30! In some ways i love the dream feed because it's the only time i get cuddles when she's all sleepy and warm as she's quite a fussy baby and will only sit on me for a little bit before she squirms and moans - i shouldn't be surprised she's taking me down the BLW route she's already showing an independant streak! No doubt i'll be back posting on here in a panic about BLW but hearing from people on here puts me back on track and puts it all back in to perspective. None of my friends have babies yet so the only people i have to rely on on baby things is my four antenatal friends, but whilst their babies all seem to be on the same track and things appear to be going smoothly i'm on a different journey, for example they have all taken to bf'ing like ducks to water whereas i had the community mid wife come to my home for 2 hours feeding up my DD who wouldn't latch on and eventually became so despondant she had low blood sugar!
