DS pushing all his food out - yuk!

Not sure if this is a weaning question, but didn't know where else to post it. DS (10 mths) has been great with his food up til now, and loves picking up bits/lumps and chewing/messing them etc. All good so far.... However, he has just started this habit of eating normally then suddenly opening his mouth really wide, and sort of rolling his tongue until all the food in his mouth falls out - I think he may be laughing as well
He is also drinking his water and then not quite spitting it out, but letting it drip out all over himself - what is going on? is this just a phase? Seems to be with all food, so don't think it's because he hates a type of food. It's just so messy and disheartening when I have slaved over a lovely meal for him.....

just a phase. he's figuring out what he can do with his tongue and mouth basically. let him carry on, just give it no real attention.

You are right, I need to ignore what he is doing, but he keeps making me laugh with the faces he is pulling - perhaps I am making it worse! Will not pay attention to it tomorrow and just carry on as normal.

he will also, if he hasn't already, start learning what happens when he drops food, throws food, pushes food into his hair, or your hair, what happens if he pours his water onto his tray, into his bowl, onto his head, onto your head, onto the floor, etc etc...think of it as an excellent learning opportunity!

oh god i'd forgotten about the phase where all they seem to do is wait til you turn round and then pour water everywhere... dd used to do that All The Time. thank god that's over.
