Hi, I started weaning my lb 2 weeks ago now he is 5 and a half months old, 4 months corrected but got the go ahead from HV as he was showing all signs that he was more than ready. For the first week I started him off on the recommended portion of baby porridge for breakfast and second week i introduced some pureed fruit for lunch. I however feel like there seems to be no feeding him, today I used a total of 8 spoonfuls of baby porridge (using a baby munchkin spoon) and he was still screaming for more and at lunch he took a full pouch of ellas kitchen apple. I don’t want to overload his stomach any help on what portion sizes / amount you give your little ones is appreciated! Thank you x

Give him his usual bottle or breast feed before offering food if you aren’t already.

Personally if your doing sweet for breakfast I would try a veg at lunch also so he isn't just use to sweet stuff! Apparently it's easy to over feed a baby that is spoon fed as they don't understand when they are full. Don't know how true this is though! Maybe a little milk feed after even if it's only a oz or so! X

Sorry I should have said he is still taking all his milk feeds every 3 hours ranging between 5-7oz. I am introducing veg from tomorrow, i was told to start with porridge one week, veg one week and fruit the next in whichever order. I am only introducing single ingredients atm to monitor if he has any intolerance/reactions to certain foods! X

Unless there is a history of allergies there is no reason to offer single foods. An allergy can start on the first time, the second or the 100th time your baby has a new food.

There is history which is exactly the reason why i’m only doing single ingredients.
