Weaning at 4 and a half months

So perhaps this has been answered but I couldn't find exactly the situation. My son is 4 and a half months and 7.5 kg and 99% height. Although I heard size doesn't really matter. He has started eating 8-9oz per feed at first only 6 bottles a day and STTN. Lately he's after at least 8 bottles screaming for food every few hours. The Hv said to add some solids 'if it seems like milk isn't enough' I'm agonising over it a bit. I heard it can cause gastric issues later on and excema (which my dh has and I m ow how horrible it can be) Hv confused me a bit by saying 'don't do it if you don't have too... Its safe if you do but there is a slight risk of gastric issues'. I don't know what to make of it. I should say I suffer a bit from a lingering PN anxiety so I don't know if this is another silly worry or I should keep holding on till he's a little older.

I started at 4 months with both my 99 percentile babies. Started them on purées veg and fruit, no diary, grains or meat, egg, fish until 6 months ( although they randomly ate things they grabbed around 5 months.) My oldest already had some dry skin issues, but cleared by age 2, youngest no issues. Both no allergies, both no digestion issues now, tall strong children.

At six months they basically started baby lead weaning, no more purée just finger foods or bits of what we were eating, chopped up.

To be fair veg and fruit purée isn't that filling, but they get in the swing of having small meals 3 times a day and then at six months they can switch over quicker to more filling stuff.

Oh I also gave baby rice as a porridge with water ( as breastfeeding but you can use formula ) , but look into that one as there was an scare over arsenic levels in rice. To be honest they have like 2 spoonfuls to start with so it's tiny.
