Hi Mumsnet
Was hoping for some advice.
My little girl is nearly 10 months. We have been weaning from 6 months and it's been slow progress. We originally started with purées but she refuses to be spoon fed so we are now fully on BLW. It is only in the last month or so she has eaten anything significant but IMO she still eats a small amount of food at each of the three meals. An example of a good lunch was half a slice of toast with cream cheese, a third of a banana, one strawberry and a small fromage frais. This is a good size meal for her and it often takes some effort to get her to eat that amount. Milk is always offered after food or she wouldn't eat a thing.
She has in the last few days decided to increase her milk intake. She was having around 600mls per day but this has now increased to 800-900mls. If she doesn't take enough milk in the day she will wake at night and won't settle until she drinks a 200ml bottle. This is very our of character for her as she slept through for 12 hours a night from around 5 months old (I know we have been very lucky).
She is a big girl, nearly 11kg (98th centile for weight) and she is crawling and pulling up and walking along furniture so I think she is quite active.
I am concerned her milk is increasing and don't want the milk to over shadow the food which is very slow progress but also don't want her to go hungry.
How much milk did / does your LO drink?
Also as her meals are small should I give snacks as well to try and increase the food she is eating over the day?
I might give the HV a call but last time I spoke to her (about 2 months ago) she said if solids didn't improve, I would have to cut the milk and we seem to be going in the opposite direction.
Thanks
