baby rice, I feel, has no real nutritional value and really isn't neccessary when you could give your 6 month old finger foods or something lovely like banana.

Coolmama · 05/10/2007 18:40

smashed-up carrot

Screaminglips · 05/10/2007 18:41

Baby rice but DD spat it out there and then...so i gave her a vegetables flavour puree and she wolfed it down!

Toothyboy · 05/10/2007 18:41

ds1 - baby rice

ds2 - plum

somersetmum · 05/10/2007 18:46

ds - pureed carrot
dd - pureed carrot

both very good eaters now

MaeWest · 05/10/2007 18:59

A nice juicy slice of pear, and some sweet potato mush (didn't go down so well). DS is now 14 months and eats pretty mcuh everything in sight.

WorkingClassScum · 05/10/2007 19:47

DS helped himself to a bite of my banana!

shrooms · 13/10/2007 01:38

Ds:
Mashed banana, and pureed broccoli.

DD: mashed carrot, pear puree.

OverRated · 13/10/2007 03:10

banana

shouldalistenedtomymum · 13/10/2007 03:41

milupa baby rice
pureed carrot

Bienchen · 13/10/2007 03:49

Stewed pear and stewed carrot (but not at same time LOL)

Baby rice tastes vile, reminds me of wallpaper paste. No baby of mine liked it but useful for thickening up homemade veg and fruit purees.

Gosh you can tell I can't sleep

chocchipcookie · 13/10/2007 04:03

Apple sauce

fairyfay · 13/10/2007 05:10

My DD's and DS's first tastes were mashed banana, mashed carrot, baby porridge and pureed apple. The apple and banana were the most popular.

I tried baby rice both times and they both hated it. As someone else said though it is useful for thickening things and I do sometimes mix a bit in with my fruit or veg purees.

Jojay · 13/10/2007 08:08

Tried baby rice - ds unimpressed.

Then tried banana which he loved, and then he sucked on an orange segment for a bit.

littleducks · 13/10/2007 08:32

roasted red pepper, i was inspired by aitch's recipe (well is really just a two minute method but still) from here babyledweaning.blogware.com/blog/GettingStartedFingerFoodBasics/FingerFoodBasicsMonth1 (you may have to scroll down) and while you are on the sight check out the baby pics! They do love their food!

SharpMolarBear · 13/10/2007 08:33

I gave him some carrot, broccoli and baby corn
He first ate a bit of the baby corn
(This was only a few days ago if you're impressed by my fantastic memory )
