When did you first give your baby raw apple?

I have a mental block about it with my first child. I remember peeling slices for him and I remember once giving him a whole one but I have no recall of what age he was.

I didn't give mine slices, DD1 scrapes her bottom teeth on one and she's 8 months. DD2 eats the whole apple and its core and has done for ages, she's nearly two.
I guess it's more about teeth than age?

Not until they had their back molars due to an irrational fear of them choking on it!

From 6 months. Grated.

I can't remember when my DSs were ready for chunks. When they had quite a few teeth and had roughly mastered the art of chewing, I guess. Perhaps around 9/10 months.

hadn't thought of grating. He only has 3 front teeth but is very good at chewing.

mine had 'peeling' type pieces at around 10mo. i.e. peel the skin off and get rid of it, then give baby peeled slices of the apple flesh.

each of mine only got whole apples when they stole them from the fruit bowl, at around 18mo. If giving it to my 2yr old i still peel & cut them up, tho stolen ones get eaten (fast) whole.

LOL - there is a baby-sized bite out of every single apple in our fruit bowl. more fruit crumble tomorrow then...

Started giving her whole apples around 10 months - she can get through a whole one pretty quickly when in the mood. I avoided chunks and slices because of the choking issue.

grated from 6 months. slices from a year, whole apples from maybe 14 months ish. now she's 17 months she absolutely loves apples, spends a good hour on it, eats the entire thing and just gives me the stalk when she's done. she has 8 teeth.
