Percentile Jump

Hello, my DS is nearly 8 months and since we started weaning he has jumped from the 21st to 38th percentile. He was a week over 6 months when we started so this jump is in 7 weeks.

He loves food and went to 3 meals a day quite quickly. He's happy with lumps and if we're eating and he's not we always have to pull off a few crumbs.

Typical day

Breakfast
Porridge or half a weetabix

Lunch
Usually fruit or veg based
Third of a banana with a tea spoon of peanut butter
Or
Butternut squash with red lentils
Or
Stewed fruit with Greek yoghurt

Dinner
Usually carb based
Potato with veg
Or
Rice and veg

He is BF on demand through the day and after each meal he wants a BF

He was around the 35th percentile when born but lost a lot of weight and went to the 2nd percentile when we were establishing feeding and he had a tongue tie. Since that was sorted he has slowly climbed the centiles but not at such a rate.

Is this ok or should I be doing something to reduce the speed he is gaining weight?

I would contact your health visitor for reassurance as they will have seen it all before, but to me, that sounds absolutely fine. It is great he is enjoying weaning!

This is fine. You'll probably find it goes down again when they start moving
