Reduce it BF without issues

I've recently decided to stop BF my DS after nearly 7 weeks. I was simply finding it to difficult as in a FTM.

DS is now on formula during the day and Breast milk on a night time. I'm exclusively expressing three times a day and getting 4/5oz altogether each time.

I'm just wondering when I should and can safely reduce my expressing without running into problems like mastitis and blocked ducts?

Could you reduce an oz per pumping session, then after 2 days if your breasts don’t feel uncomfortable reduce another oz, then wait 2 days etc etc! Keep checking your breasts for lumps and red patches as this is a sign of mastitis.

I seem to remember being advised to drop 1 feed per week to minimise any issues, I assume the same might apply for expressing.

As your baby is still so small, you might find that dropping sessions any quicker would affect your supply, especially during upcoming growth spurts and essentially force an end to being able to feed.

Another idea might be to do some mixed feeds at night, so give a half-bottle and then feed from one side, switching sides each feed.

I think OP wants to stop her supply? May have misread that though!

Yes, sorry, I meant stopping safely without mastitis etc, rather than trying to continue.
