Is he eating and drinking enough?

I'm less bothered about what solid food he's having but he's dropped a milk feed.

DS is 6 months, weaning is going pretty well. He has 2 meals a day, breakfast and dinner. He also has 5 9oz bottles. He's a big baby though, 22lbs 10oz at last check and I'm worried he's not having enough milk now that he's dropped his 11pm bottle. I can't get a hold of my health visitor to discuss it with her.

Hi. That sounds exactly like out DS at that age. Big baby. No night feeds. 5 x 10oz bottles a day. Starting weaning.

As long as you're getting plenty of wet nappies, and he's not waking hungry in the night, he sounds fine.

Hi OP, both of my DC dropped an evening feed once they started weaning so I wouldn't worry too much. If your DS is getting 4 9oz a day then that's about average for a baby of his age. If it makes you feel any better, DC2 has only ever had 5oz milk up to 4 times a day once she started weaning and she's a chunky 15mo now.

Thank you all, I keep reminding myself that if he was breastfed nobody would care how much he was drinking milk wise so long as he was happy and well. There was quite a focus on volumes when he was born because of a feeding plan and it's stayed with me.
