Can I change from purees to BLW after so long?

Story thus far: felt rather pushed to start weaning and started on purees at 5.5 months. DD now 8 months and on weetabix for bfast, milk during the day, and then puree of some sort in the evening (although now a little bit more chunky, or with pasta bits in etc). However, as I'm about to introduce lunch as well I just wondered if it's possible to just stop the puree dinner completely and just give her finger foods for both lunch and dinner?

A friend of mine did just that at 8 months, as her little one suddenly turned into a spoon refuser. She became a poster girl for BLW! I'd just try it - you might be pleasantly surprised. Have you tried asking this on the BLW blog forum? www.babyledweaning.com - click on link on the left hand side.

Dd4 spent a long time in hospital and began her weaning with purees. When she eventually came home (aged 9 months) I ended up cutting out the purees and giving her finger food. TBH she started swiping stuff off my plate anyway.
