Is DD just not ready?

First time mum so feel utterly clueless (and slightly stressed) about weaning.
DD is 6 and a half months and started trying with weaning at 6 months. She can sit unaided, has great head control etc.
She is an incredibly sicky baby - full blown projectile vomit at least once a day even now - although HV and GP not concerned. She was also 4 weeks early but had no issues.
I have tried her with some homemade fruit/vegetable purées which I have spoon fed to her and she swallows but it’s a battle. She doesn’t open her mouth for the spoon and when I tried putting some cooked broccoli in front of her to see if BLW might be a better option she cried until I took it away!
Is she perhaps just not ready yet?
Any advice would be greatly received!

Does she watch you eat with interest?

Try just letting her smell your food and maybe, If interested, let her lick baby safe foods to get a taste?

If she shows no interest in you eating I'd say she isn't ready quite yet.

My boys 18 weeks and eye balls every meal I have and loves being offered a sniff 😂, we obviously haven't offered tastes yet as to little but I have a feeling he will love food when it's time due to this.

I think if she isn’t interested then wait. DS is almost 6 months but has been really interested in food and watching us eat since 4 months. He hasn’t lost his tongue-thrust reflex and can’t sit unaided so I’ll probably wait for those first even if he’s over 6 months.

She doesn’t seem particularly interested when I eat no.
I think I might leave it a few weeks and try again then. Wish the health visitor centres were open so I could ask there for some advice!

I know what you mean I miss my hv loads!

Let her see you eat as much as possible and let her take the lead ☺

It doesn't sound as if she's ready to me ether. If you are BFing, I'd give her a good vitamin supplement.

I'd also sit her in the high chair or on your knee when you eat, just to get her in the habit of being with everyone whilst they eat.

My DD wasn't that fussed at first in she was in her high chair but would sneakily take things from my plate Smile
