Dribble rash caused by weaning?

Hi guys

Has anyone else’s LO had a dribble rash that was caused by weaning? She literally just got this as soon as she started solids a week ago. She is teething but has been for weeks and again had a constantly wet chin for weeks.

So is this rash caused by weaning or could it be someone more serious? It’s like little red blisters on her chin, cheeks, chest and even behind her ears.

The reason I’m not 100% sure is that she also has some small raised bits (not red) at the bridge of her nose, under her eyes and in her eyebrows

I would add she’s on Nutramigen for CMPA, has reflux and eczema Blush

Speak to your GP tomorrow. DS’ dribble rash is more like red patches rather than blisters and fade after a coconut oil massage.

That sounds more allergy related than dribble rash.

Are you seeing a Paediatric Dietician? Your Dr should have referred you as soon as CMPA was aspected Smile

*suspected

Just wanted to also ask if she's been to the Allergy Clinic for testing? If not, I would ask the GP for a referral for this too.

In the meantime, I'd offer food once a day and only introduce new foods every two or three days and keep a food diary with foods and reactions to take to any appointments in the future.

Thanks for all your comments. We had a terrible night with lots of crying and scratching. She was asleep the whole time whilst she was doing it but I obviously was not! Shattered. Yea we are under the care of a dietician and I’ve spoken to her this morning. She suggested we try an amino based formula called Neocate. We tried nutramigen pureamino before but it just gave her the runs. We tried that because of her reflux and this was before the rash developed. Hopefully this will work for her. I’m also seeing our GP because she just wants to be sure that it’s nothing else.

She hasn’t been to an allergy clinic for testing but we did the milk ladder and it’s definitely CMPA

DF milk sounds like a good idea. Did she suggest putting a couple of drops of vanilla essence in to make it more palatable if baby doesn't like it?

Talking to the GP is a good idea. I would ask for a referral to the allergy clinic though so that you can rule out other allergens like eggs and dust mites.

You could also ask if an antihistamine might help whilst she's so uncomfortable Thanks

@JiltedJohnsJulie no she didn’t but thanks for the tip! It does smell rank so she might be funny about taking it
