DS is 5 months and I'm considering the whole BLW vs conventional weaning.
Is it truly correct baby could survive off BM for a year with no worries, an dthe odd bit of fruit and veg, or do i have the wrong end of the stick?

minilovett !!! Loveit !!! that may stick

we started on steamed veg - carrots, broc, boiled potato, moved onto rice cakes and porridge which helped him swallow and culminating in todays exploits - pizza ! oops

you see what i mean about it affecting the parents diet ???

go and have a look on the BLW forum on aitchs blog,it's brill and you'll get loads of supoort and ideas. also re the breastfeeing, i know where you're coming from on that one, can you express ? I'm currently building a stock in the freexer and planning to express at work - (but think in my heart of hearts that i need to be at home with ds)

otherwise like mears says on another thread, just offer bf;s am and pm with solids and water in between - they cope ! i have no doubt that ds will cope, i think it'll be us mums who don't !!

that's what my friend did, puffy, and she said the weird thing was that she went back part-time and there always seemed to be enough milk for more feeds on the days she was off work, so it all worked perfectly.

puffylovett · 15/09/2007 21:02

apparently it only takes an hour for your boobs to fill up again - so on the days when they're feeding more, your body just keeps up with demand.

very clever i reckon ! isn't nature a wonderful thing ?!

Aitch · 15/09/2007 21:05

not for me, ggrrr. my norks and i were barely on speaking terms over my whole bfing saga.

puffylovett · 15/09/2007 21:09

ah aitch next time !! every baba is different. and it's obviously worked brilliantly for babybear being on formula, so you mustnt have any regrets or be sad

Aitch · 15/09/2007 22:12

cheers.
