Foods to mash with a fork

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas / recipes off the top of their head of foods or meals I can do that are easily mashable with a fork??

I'm doing more traditional weaning with a bit of finger foods for LO (6 months), but don't have a blender, and keen not to just shovel jars / pouches down, so anything that can be done just with a fork would be great.

LO has taken to the more lumper foods quite well so doesn't have to be completely smooth.

Thanks in advance!!!

Loads of fruit and veg can easily be mashed with a fork. Scrambled egg/Omelette. Softened lentils/Chickpeas/Beans
Weetabix.

Hard boiled eggs, sweet potatoes, pears and other soft fruit. Avocado. Steamed apples. Banana.

Sweet potato, avocado, banana.

Things like stewed meat with vegetables
Cottage pie
Bolognese
Banana, obviously
I used to bake butternut squash cut in half, then just scoop out the soft innards.

...keen not to just shovel jars / pouches down

Shoveling is optional with these things. They're not inherently unsophisticated Grin

Beef stew? Lasagne, cottage pie and gravy?

Are you offering a finger food on the side too for baby to explore?
