When did your baby go from chewing to chewing AND swallowing?

Just that really. My 7.5 month old will chew on small toast fingers, mini rice cakes, maybe a bit of pasta... But 90% gets spat out. Is this normal at this age?

He will take small amounts of purée or mash at each meal (less than i’d like), but it does at least get eaten!

Let baby take at their own pace.

I'd keep with the purées for the moment - or mashed food with a slightly lumpy texture.

Remember it's mostly just the experience before they are 1.

Keep offering the toast fingers every week or so - you could try chopping those very small to see if baby wants a little chew on those.

I wouldn't worry all sounds very normal, enjoy it.Smile
