Milk intake gone up!?

Hi

DS is 6 months, we started weaning at 5 months per HV go ahead as he was showing all the signs. He's taken to it well, but hasn't really increased what he's having food wise and has actually increased his milk intake rather than dropping it!

Just wondering if this is OK /cause for concern? He's having around 50oz of formula a day these last 2 weeks, which seems a lot! He currently has porridge with fruit for breakfast, and veg at lunch(half a pouch ish or 2 ice cubes) Should we try for 3 meals a day? We also offer finger food, but he's not that keen.

He's currently on 95th centile, although at this rate will probably be higher when he's weighed next week!!

Any advice, reassurance or tips appreciated!

Milk is more important at that age

Food is fun until 1!

That’s an awful lot of milk. DS is very big and was having almost as much. He wasn’t that interested in food either. At about 12 months, he was still having 30-35oz of milk. He only started eating real portions after his birthday but currently (16 months) still has 20-25oz of milk a day (as well as meals and snacks but he’s huge).

Well just had him weighed and he's now on 98th centile for weight and 94th for length. So I guess all that milk is going somewhere!! He seems to have dropped off a bit to around 40 oz the last few days, so maybe it was a growth spurt. Up to solids 3 times a day now too. I'm just finding it quite hard to know how much of wgat he should be having!! Less milk in the day has meant he wants more at night too!
