dd is nearly 7 months all going well with BLW but am wondering about rice and cous cous is that ok? Not too anal but is white better than brown rice or vice versa? Thanks for any advice.

both ok. best to keep them sticky so your dd can pick it up easily. so don't let your cous cous dry out too easily and give your rice a few stirs to get it sticky.

i personally would go for white rice over brown. not good for babies to have too much fibre. however, not good for them to have too much processed food, which white rice kind of is. you have to find a balance.

and oh jesus lord, the rice gets everywhere. agree with ruddy that slightly overcooking it helps keep it sticky. or go for risotto rice. dd has always had a mix of brown and white, whichever takes her parents' fancy that day.

You'll be picking it out of the cracks in the floorboards for weeks! But both of mine LOVE rice

if you've got floorboards, put something on th floor first. even newspaper is helpful.

We tend to mix rice with whatever she's having with it - say chilli (of sorts). Makes it more clumpy and easy to grab.

BTW - totally misunderstood title of this thread - first thought it was "BLW is nice, ok?", and then that it was equating BLW with rice... I need a cup of tea.
