I weaned my ds at 6 mths and he took to it very enthusiastically. Within a couple of weeks he was eating a varied diet of fruit veg, meat, fish and lentil recipes and some sweet puddings.
He's been eating happily until about a week ago. He's had diarrhoea and was sick on Monday night, but the diarrhoea is getting better and he seems fine within himself - has done throughout the 'bug'.
He's just not interested in his solids. he'll still drink milk, though not loads, considering how little solids he's eating ( about 20 oz a day; prior to weaning he had about 40 oz)
He's gone from eating 3/4 of a jar at each meal( homemade, but use jars to store) to reluctantly eating a few mouthfuls.
He still eats a reasonable amount of porridge with fruit at breakfast, though not as much as before. At lunch and tea, he won't take much at all, though will take yoghurt/ custard / sweet stuff, but even then, he's not that bothered.
A couple of days ago I gave him a stage 2 pot,( wondering if he just didn't like my cooking!!!) with some lumps, and he hardly ate any of that, despite managing lumps fine before.
It'd like he just can't be bothered any more. I gave him some finger food a la BLW, while I ate my lunch today - he should have been hungry but wasn't remotely interested.
Has anyone had anything similar happen??
Or any ideas of what I can do you kich start his appetite again??
I had him weighed yesterday and he'd only put on 2 grams in a month, whereas he's weight gain has been ttextbook until now. He's still on the 50th centile though, so I'm not panicking yet!
