How much is enough?

Hello All,
Possibly a silly question, but how do you know when they've had enough to eat? DD is 5 months 1 week and is a total dustbin. I gave her 3 cubes of parsnip mixed with 2 tsp baby rice last night and she wolfed the lot and opened her mouth for more! Have looked at Gina Fords book, which I think has quite sensible advice (not up for the whole strict routine thing tho!) but in her guide they eat masses. Will dd just refuse it when she is full? should i give her more? she has 3 cubes of fruit at bfast, 1 cube of veg at lunch and 4 8oz bottles too! Bless

Hmmm it is hard top know how much to feed them isn't it.
I roughly do GF weaning too, and he has 30oz milk in the day, and 1 cube + 2 tsp rice for breakfast, 2 - 3 cubes at lunch, and 2 cubes for tea. Ds is 6 months old.
I suppose that as long as they are getting the right amount of milk, anything actually eaten is a bonus?
Also, ds wolfs down loads one day, and very little the next..

at 5 months old he needs very little at all...whatever GF might say.

your best bet, imvho, is to wait til he can feed himself then he will only eat a little, then gradually more and more as his need for food increases. until then he should be full of milk.
