So I'm sure this has been asked to death but baby is 6.5months and doing well on purees and dissolvable snacks (taking all (apart from what goes everywhere and on floor 😂😂) ) so I'm unsure where to go next. Is it mashed or whole veg pieces/fruits?

TIA

You don't need to give mashed food after 6 months, if you start weaning at 6 months you don't have to start with purées. It's important that you give finger food for hand to mouth coordination. Give large pieces of soft fruit like banana, easy to hold and mush with gums. Ripe avocado cut into quarters lengthways is good too. Also you can try bread or toast spread with something soft (mashed avocado is good for this too) and soft veg like cooked carrot sticks and broccoli or cauliflower. You can give mashed food if you want to but you don't have to. I had one dc that was weaned using purées then mashed etc and one baby led. For baby led weaning we just gave dd what we were having (no salt, no whole nuts and no honey until 1 yo) and let her get on with.
