Moving on from a bedtime bottle

Hi,

I’m looking for some advice. My LO is 19 months and has a bottle of cows milk when I put him to bed. He goes down awake, drinks his bottle and then goes to sleep himself. I am conscious that he probably shouldn’t have a bottle now but he gets so excited to have it. I currently use the closer to nature tommee tippee bottle. Does anyone have any advice on what to move him onto that won’t be a massive confusion to him but better for his oral health?

Much appreciated

I switched mine to a sippy cup of milk at bedtime. No bid problems since they were already using the cup during the day

I use a tommee tippee cup for milk at breakfast then a bottle with a straw for water. I’ll try the sippy cup for bed and see how we get on. Thank you 😊

We just swapped to a sippy cup. He has his milk then we clean his teeth and then off to bed.

I would either use a sippy cup or a straw cup. Both of mine got on with the Moma straw cups. They are virtually non spill as long as they don’t throw them around. But you will probably want to give it to him and take it away after. It can be opened or make a mess if they really try. But it’s no trouble.

Both of mine had theirs before bed and then we had a cuddle and they went to sleep. They can get used to not feeding to sleep with practice.
