7.5 month breastfed DD. Cows milk question

Hi everyone,

I know this has been done a few times but I'd just like some specific advice/tips.

DD is breastfed. She has about 5 breastfeeds a day. She is also having 3 solids meals a day. She loves her food and has a mixture of fingers foods (eg toast, broccoli, banana), pureed foods (7mth + lumpy jars, yoghurts and fruit pots.

She happily drinks water from a cup.

However......

I have tried giving 3 types of formula from the same cup and she slurps it up and then opens her mouth and spits it out. IE - she doesnt like the taste of formula.

MIL suggested cow's milk as she weaned all her children from breast to cows milk between 6 months and 1 year.

I know the advice is now 12 months. But as my DD has a well balanced diet, would that advice still apply if I was hoping to replace just ONE-TWO of the current 5 breastfeeds a day with a cup of milk for my nearly 8 month old?

Thanks Mears.

She's doing well today, has had 4 feeds but went from 10.30-3.30 without a breastfeed. She had lunch and water in that time so I know I she can do it some days, just not others....

Ok, so we're all stressed here and DD2 is constantly pulling at my top for milk even though I have fed her 6 times already today in addition to her 3 meals.

I called the health visitor who also said no to cow's milk before 1 but said that DD only needs 2 breastfeeds a day by now!!

I dont want to cut the feeds that much but I'm on my own at the mo as DH is away, and I'm knackered. Any tips on dealing with this? Or do I just need to sit it out till DH comes home and come up with a plan then?

My first period came yesterday which may be making me blow things out of proportion but any tips on how to get the feeds back to just 3 hourly would be great.

And I know this should probably be in the breast feeding section but I didnt really want to start a new thread....
