Meal ideas during kitchen renovation

My kitchen is being ripped out tomorrow and I’ll have about 2 weeks with limited access.

DS is 8.5 months, BLW 3 meals a day. Breakfast will be fine, I can give cereal and fruit. Lunch I can do sandwiches and cucumber sticks etc. But what about dinner? I’m pretty sure that the oven will be out of use for a good week. I have a microwave and a kettle! Any dinner ideas?

What will you be eating yourself?

God I genuinely have no idea. Deliveroo, in all likelihood

You can do some ready meals, like the Annbel Karmel ones. I often buy them, portion them out (they are way too big for one meal), freeze them in smaller portions and then microwave when needed for a quick meal if we aren't doing something baby friendly. The lasagna and pasta with meatball ones (I top them with grated cheese to heat up) are particularly good. Also, you will likely find you can get away with doing some takeaway meals that you can share with your baby (small bit of pizza with cucumber sticks, bit of yogurt or fruit) or meals you'd serve cold (roast chicken bought from the store, with cheese cubes, cold salad veg, hummus on toast, bagels with cream cheese if you will have a toaster).

Ok it doesn't have to look like a complete adult meal, just give random veg, protein and carbs on the same plate in any combination.

Veg - cucumber, peppers, carrot, tinned Sweetcorn etc

Protein - ham, chicken or beef slices, cheese, microwaved baked beans, hummus, microwaved tinned fish e.g. tuna or mackerel (try the many flavours like spicy tomato sauce, tuna mayo with sweetcorn etc). Defrosted ready cooked prawns.

Carbs - many many different types of bread toasted and untoasted, ready made potato salad, ready made pasta salads try the "lunches" aisle at supermarkets, potatoes can be baked in a microwave, sushi again from the "lunch" stuff in supermarkets. Many different types of crackers.

Potato cakes, toasted in a toaster.
