Massive drop in formula

6.5mo dd has been weaned for a while. We're now on ready brek with formula for breakfast and mixed veg for tea.

Bottles are currently - 4oz 1pm, 6oz 7pm and then 6oz at some point over night. 10pm was her last and she's refused another bottle at breakfast (I always offer just in case!)

This doesn't feel enough to me. She's a big girl, 95th centile. Size 4 nappies now fit again after being too small a few weeks ago.

Is this normal?? I offer her water with tea which she loves.

She should be on 20oz of milk a day at her age. Cheese / yoghurt / fromage frais all count.

Have you had her weighed recently?

I've been giving her cheese in a recipe I found. She has had two bottles since I posted which is more then usual!

Mine did that same at that age, keep offering it. It's a phase and will shortly pass. It seems to happen every time dd is teething.

Oh really, she's just about to cut her second tooth! I hadn't thought of that!

That will be it then. Can't feel nice sucking on a bottle when your teeth are ripping through your gums. Give it a couple weeks and she will be back to her usual feeds. Just keep offering it to her. I used to give it slightly chilled to try and relieve her gums a bit, might be worth a try?
