Dinner ideas for a fussy eater (11m old!)

DS eats with his eyes, he wont put certain foods near his mouth which i know he likes (for instance if i put them to his mouth without him paying attention he will sometimes then eat them feeding himself), he also doesnt like being messy so will take certain foods as a puree fed by me but if i put, say, a casserole in front of him he wont even try it. So desperate for new ideas for foods which are dry-ish and dont crumble too much (seem to be his demands when it comes to finger food) as at the moment he has

  • cheese on toast
  • hummus on toast
  • peanut butter on toast
  • mac and cheese
  • spinach fritters
  • butt squash fritters
  • cucumber
  • almost any fruit
  • homemade pizza with sweet corn on
  • falafal

And thats about it 🙈

If i feed him he will eat more things as a puree but im keen to get him feeding himself more and move away from that

veggie muffins

veggie pancakes

courgette and tomato frittata

mashed sardines mixed with scrambled eggs (sardines are very, very good for children under 2). Get rid of the tails and mash everything else. you want the ones in oil, and with bones (they dissolve when mashed but are full of calcium). if he doesn't like this, you can try mashed sardines with yogurt and banana, or mashed in avocado and cream cheese. babies should have fish around 2 times a week

all the best x
