fine with solids but is this enough breastmilk for my 8 month ds?...

have posted this in the bf section but only one response!
My 8 mo ds LOVES his food and until the last few days was also having 3 or 4 breastfeeds a day too. But now he is only interested in a breastfeed first thing in morning and before bed - pretty much refuses any in the day. He has always refused a bottle and I have tried giving him expressed and formula in a cup (which is happy to drink a bit of water out of) but he really won't take more than a few sips. he is growing well and is a happy chappy generally.
One HV told me that breastmilk is THE most important thing, and another told me solids were more important! So, do you think he is getting enough milk? And if not should i cut down on his solids?
TIA!

He sounds fine to me. As long as he is growing well, is healthy and drinking water during the day I wouldn't worry too much.

breastmilk is the most important thing but you should not get hung up about quantities. Think of it like the flavour in a biscuit. It is the most important thing but you only need a little (dyswim?).

My ds was the same he is now 9.5 months and only has 2 bf a day one in the morning and 1 at night, but sometime has one in the middle of the day if he is not feeling very well, I felt the same as you but my hv said that in 2 feeds he would get all the milks he needs, so feel ok about it now.
