How much milk 8 month old

The last free days my little girl has lost all interest in milk and maybe has 12oz a day at a push. She can have a bottle at 3 in the morning then not again until 9 at night. I offer milk before each meal but she just refuses. Is this normal when weaning to drop this much milk so quickly?? Any advice?? Were doing the normal things - giving yoghurt and things like porridge with milk for breakfast. Shes also not really drinking water- maybe a couple of oz a day.

She should be having 20ozs of milk at her age per day. This can be made up from yoghurt / cheese / fromage frais etc.

It could just be a blip. Have you weighed her recently?

Is she still like this OP?

Shelley is correct in the amount of formula she should be having. It is 20floz or 600ml in 24 hours. Once she's 10 months this drops down to 13.5 floz or 400 ml.

If she's not getting this, she needs a good multivitamin and you need to look at replacing the fat and protein she'll be missing. Things like adding olive oil to purées and feeding salmon and other oily fish will help.

Smooth nut butters are a good source of protein and if you use almond butter, that's high in calcium too.

Have a read of this guide from the Caroline Walker Trust. It give suggested portions and sample menus. You'll probably need from about page 39 Smile
