Baby will only eat pouches!

My baby has been weaning for about a month and is 6.5 months old. Mostly have been given purée but I think I I've unfortunately over done the pouches as that is all she will eat! Well when I say that she will nibble at bits when I put them in front of her but won't eat any home made purées. I'm feeling a bit stressed about weaning now as I feel I'm just buying pouches all the time and she loves these. Any ideas!

I think it just takes time, at 6.5 baby is still pretty new to this. My DD would only eat the smoothest pouches plus rice cakes till almost 9 months. Now she’ll eat more texture and a bigger variety of finger food.

I think they must put something addictive in those pouches! Have you tried adding a small spoonful of something homemade to a pouch? If it’s apple and pear for example, substitute a spoon of your version for the pouch purée, If she doesn’t notice then you could substitute more of your stuff very gradually.

Lots of pouches are very sweet as they use veg that sweetensnthem, s such as carrot or sweetbpotato

Yea they always add in a fruit or something probably as the babies will eat it and keeps us coming back for more!!

It's absolutely fine don't stress about it. she's still very little and very new to food so if she's doing well on pouches then just carry on giving those to her and try and give her other things on the side. If you're happy for her to have finger food then maybe give her a little bit to try even if she just plays with it for now. Food before one is just for fun.

Pouches are swert and very smooth, so try doing the same, sieve your purees and you may have more luck. Keep offering variety and bits of your food
