Dairy intolerance 10 months

Hi all, has anyone decided their babe is dairy intolerant fairly late on and done something about it to positive effect? I've always suspected it - eczema all over, foul smelling loose poo which tends to happen directly after a feed. We were on alimentum similac before weaning which made his poo green (and I believe the non dairy formula has more sugar in it?) so we gave up on that. I'm wondering now about trying goats milk formula or anything else actually and just wondered if anyone else has changed tact at this age? Thanks!

Yep, we went lactose free at about 7 months and dietician said to go completely dairy free at 10 and 1/2 months. She said that age there was no point having formula and to go straight to non dairy milk. Either alpro growing up milk or oatly barista is best.

Many thanks for your response. Do you mind sharing what indicated the intolerance? And also what benefits you saw in coming off? Is he now on a v strict no dairy diet? When I tried to do this while breastfeeding I seem to remember being advised no soy products and also found that dairy seems to creep into SO much food?!

This sounds like my boy! Covered in eczema, generally unhappy and constantly had rattly chest/coughs. Switched him to SMA lactose free formula and his eczema has cleared and he seems a lot more content. Soy based didn't seem to improve anything so we switched to lactose free. I am now making sure he doesn't have anything containing cows milk in his food whilst we're weaning and will gradually introduce dairy/cows milk once he's turned one and see if he can tolerate it. Hope you have seen an improvement!

Sorry meant to also say, this was when he was 6.5 months. He was BF until about 4 months, then moved to Aptamil until we changed to lactose free!

Have you taken your child to the GP and asked for advice?
