How much milk 18 month old

SeaShell33 · 02/04/2019 21:10

Need some advice.
My 18 month old has approximately 5-8 oz bottle mid morning, same in the afternoon and right before bed.
She has cereal for breakfast, veg & meat and fruit pudding for lunch and a mini version of whatever myself and my husband have for tea. She also has snacks if she asks for them.
Are we giving her too much milk? She has Aptimal 3 formula. She does like a bottle to help her sleep.
Thank you

They only need around 300 mls from age 1 - around 10/11oz. Any reason you are still giving formula?

We moved to cow's milk at 12 months and my LO (14 months) has a cup in the morning (about 3ozs) then about 7oz bottle before bed. What's her portion size like?

Thank you for the replies!
We just carried on with formula because we were using a Perfect Prep machine and just went with the ages on the Aptimal tubs.

We give 5oz of cows milk in the morning and before bed but she doesn't always drink it all. Three meals a day plus one or two snacks. No need for formula past 12 months, the formula companies put ages on the box to make you buy when it's not necessary.

I would swap to cows milk in a cup. She doesn’t need formula or a bottle now.

Cherylshaw · 04/04/2019 22:02

Both mine were moved on to cows milk at between 10 and 12 month, they have cups of milk throughout the day, cheese, yogurt, and in their cereals i don't keep tabs on how much they have DD is 13 month and ds is 4

Cherylshaw · 04/04/2019 22:03

I was always told not to use a bottle after 12month as it is not great for their teeth

dementedpixie · 04/04/2019 22:09

Mine switched to cows milk in a cup from 1 year. No need for formula now. I'd start phasing out the bottle gradually too.

Have to agree with swapping to a cup now over 12months and cows milk unless you have been advised to keep giving formula by a professional. It's amazing how quickly our little ones adapt to change 😁😁

Thank you everyone!
Going to try her with cows milk in her bottle first then switch to her cup Grin
