So I feed DD2 her breakfast & then I try & give her finger foods for lunch or dinner. She has just turnt 7 months, she doesn’t eat very much apart from the tiny odd bit here & there when she feeds herself. Should I help her a bit by feeding her or just keep persisting with the finger foods to encourage her to do it herself? She still has all her usual feeds she hasn’t dropped any of them & she even wakes for 2 bottles a night.
Any advice please would be helpful!
I can’t remember how i done it with DD1 now!

Can you not give a mix of puree and finger foods at each meal rather than one or the other?

Yeah good point, i could blitz our meals up a bit. Just want to encourage her as much as I can to do bits herself as well.

She's only 7 months old so there's plenty of time to master finger foods

She's only been having solids for a few weeks, so it's going to take a while for her to get the hang of self feeding. If it helps, the NHS guidance is to be moving to 3 meals a day by around 8 to 9 months. So no need to worry about where you are now.
