What medical reasons could there be for this? By weaning of course I mean introducing purees rather than cutting out milk!

Who's been advised to do it?

KirstieandPhil · 06/02/2019 18:13

I don't believe there is although I know early solids is recommended for reflux but I've never known anyone to be advised that before 17 weeks. But I could be wrong

I’ve never known 3 months, but I know two people who were medically advised to wean at 4 months. One baby had a severe milk allergy, and wouldn’t drink anywhere near enough of the substitutes they offered. The other child had a bowel problem, the paediatrician suggested it might help.

We were advised early weaning (apple puree, prune puree etc) due to chronic constipation which was causing my baby so much pain and suffering. It was under medical supervision though and mixed with his milk.

We were advised to wean early at 4 months due to bad reflux. Never heard of it earlier.
