What’s good to give 6 month old who has just started weaning in terms of finger foods?

I gave anything we were having, within reason.

Breadsticks
Cheese
Boiled/scrambled egg
Banana
Cucumber without skin

Anything you like! Things that are baton shaped a bit longer than your baby's fist are easiest to pick up. Steamed/boiled veg, things like broccoli, green beans etc. Banana split down the middle into long fingers, toast soldiers, pear, sweet potato, omelette strips, pasta.

Same as ShowOfHands really, just no whole nuts or honey. We did things like:

Toast
Cucumber
Baby sweetcorn
Porridge fingers
Mango
Cheese

Basically anything you can cut to approximately finger size. If you're doing baby led weaning then the Gill Rapley books are very good and if you're on Facebook I would recommend joining the group 'Baby Led Weaning UK'; it has 27k members so lots of ideas and tips for you.

There are some great suggestions in this guide from the Caroline Walker Trust and plenty of recipes here Smile
