Hi all

My ds has dropped from 91st percentile to 50th percentile, he is 10 months old. The health visitor has told me to add fats to his food, he is not a great eater, I feel that adding cheese and cream to all dishes is not going to help with his fussiness, any ideas for higher calorie snacks/meals that I can give him?

Thanks

Yoghurts, finger sandwiches, banana,
He can have his own mini versions of ur meals, no salt and pureed/finely chopped.
Spag Bol, sausage and mash, fish pie.

What do you usually feed him? It’s generally pretty easy to bulk out most foods. You can add butter to porridge, do hummus and pita or cheese and mayo sandwiches for lunch. Make calorie dense dinners like spaghetti bolognese and add cheese. But it depends what he’s eating already. Smoothies made with banana and avocado or banana and peanut butter are also good if you can introduce a straw.

Also I wouldn’t stress too much about his weight. He’s probably just become mobile and is starting to be very active. They burn lots of calories that way and it’s normal for weight gain to slow up. Mine dropped from 80th to 50th between about 4 and 8 months, but he started crawling at 5.5 months so he just thinned out a bit. He’s caught back up now at 9 months. My HV wasn’t bothered at all.

Was he born on the 91st centile for weight and is he tracking all of his other centiles?

What does a typical day look like for food and milk?
